The Theme - "Elements: The Alchemy of Form"
We talk about the essential elements of a game or recipe, the elements of a lens. A famous book about writing is called The Elements of Style. We say a liar's statement has an element of truth. When we talk about "being out in the elements," we talk about being out in the rain and snow. In chemistry, we talk about the Table of Periodic Elements, things like hydrogen, helium, silver, gold, and uranium. Some spiritual people say the basic elements are earth, wind, water and fire. In some Christian denominations, the elements are the bread and wine taken at communion. Comfortable people are described as being "in their element." Alchemists try to convert one element into another. Photographers try to convert two-dimensional variations of light, dark and color into a meaningful image.
