Kathy's Notes

of May, 2007

Last meeting was Thursday, May 17, at the Delaware Art Museum. It was a very small meeting, attended by myself, Mickey Freed, Beth Trepper, Beth Harpham, Jon Foltz; Danny Schweers came later; I left early. Mickey showed a water photo that he is thinking of putting into the upcoming show, and showed us the steps he did in PhotoShop to get his final image. Pretty cool stuff!

Peter Kaplan couldn't make it to this meeting to do his copyright presentation. Hopefully, he will do it at a later date. Everyone seems to be interested in knowing more about this, and the proper way to go about copyrighting our work.

Carson Zullinger has the federal tax ID number. But he needs checks in order to open a checking account. So please send a check for $35., made out to the Brandywine Photo Collective, to Carson at his home address: 5 Penny Lane Court, Wilmington, DE 19803. That will be a year's dues. With that, we will have some money to use for a 501c3 application, mailing for shows, maybe do some workshops, get a speaker or two at some point, etc. We have a lot of ideas!

Several of us - see our Calendar page - are in an exhibition at the Delaware Art Museum (along with 3 other photographers - Alida Fish, Priscilla Smith and Rob Cardillo - not in our group), which will be up through October. Check it out, if you get a chance.

Also, Mickey Freed has a show up at Colourworks--it looks great! You definitely need to see this. Good work! Mickey, you should be writing more--your words are imaginative--and fun!

Anyone one else have work up anywhere? Beth Trepper and I just had work in a juried show at the Newark Arts Alliance, on "Series and Sequence". We are both entering the juried members show that's coming up. Anyone else? Please let us know.

Stephanie Kirk has been wanting to host a meeting, since she can't get to the regular meetings because of a work conflict on Thursday nights. And she would like to get re-acquainted with everyone! So, the next meeting: Saturday, June 23, 2007, at 11 a.m., at Stephanie Kirk's house, just over the line in PA. Hopefully, Sarah Barr can make it to the meeting and we can go over stuff for upcoming show in October.

We didn't have a theme assigned for work to bring to look at for the next meeting, so bring whatever you feel like, and maybe bring whatever you're thinking about for the WATER show.

OK, photogs, guess that's it. Hope to see you all in June. I'll bring some bagels, and we'll have tea and coffee. Food, caffeine, and photos--what could be better?! Hope everyone has a fantastic summer. Happy shooting!
